Archery is very familiar within the Nyeshangba community. In the past, our ancestors used this skill of theirs for hunting and fighting war. They used bow and arrows made out of Bamboo stick.
But today, Archery is popular sport and competitions are organized every year. We, Manangi people living within Kathmandu valley and Manang village, both are preserving this old tradition by conducting “METHA” an Archery festival every year around the month of April/May. Even the bow and arrows are much more better than of yesteryears.
And we, MMC (Manang Marshyangdi Club) are trying to take this sport from Local level to National to International level.
