Manang Marshyangdi Club was established having objectives to adopt the Principle that 'Health is Wealth' through the medium of discipline, game and social activities, and to produce healthy, disciplined and competent youths in the society and contribute to the society and for the nation. In the field of game, social activities and other different areas by the youth and to enhance the dignity of the nation MMC has been participating in social services and in every type of sports to create healthy, disciplined and nationalist youth being always active to the development of the nation's game.

From its very birth, it has made distinct importance in different football competition on national level, and now it has entered into the 24th year of its establishment. This club is actively and continuously working to develop football in the nation to create healthy, disciplined and nationalist youth players, and to enhance nation's dignity by participating in social services, and national/international football competitions or tournaments.


Religious, Social, Cultural, Game Functions in connection to Manang Marshyangdi Club.

Religious Function
Being actively involved in volunteering services as well as in religion, every year on the occasion of the Lord Buddha’s birthday which is also known as ‘Buddha Jayanti’ where over hundred thousand people make a pilgrimage trip every year from many parts of the country and from over seas as well to Swoyambhunath temple, where the club members actively help in the distribution of water and food to the pilgrims.

Function in relation of Education
Realizing that 'Today's Youth are the Future' of the country, convincing the importance of education to the youth, getting or taking higher education, being competent and honest citizen, having the objectives to arise to the feeling to serve society and nation every year this club is conducting programmes since 2054 B.S (1997) to encourage pupil of Manang District & Manang Society who has passed S.L.C distributing to them certificates, medals and cash prizes. The club is conducting encouraging programmes distributing medals and certificates to the 1st, 2nd & 3rd ones and certificate to the all pupil who has simply passed S.L.C. This club is honoring the people of Manang who have achieved degree in different fields like Doctor, Pilot, and Engineering and in the field of game distributing to such personality by medals, prizes and of appreciation since 2060 B.S. This club has started to honor those personalities who have taken degree distributing to them with a letter of honor for the sake of educational function.

Functions for Culture & Tradition
This club is regularly celebrating New Year’s Eve, Holtangpa Lhosar of Gurung community in traditional form. This helps to keep the tradition and the culture alive and to teach the youths of today about their heritage. Also organized traditional arrow shooting competition to introduce young generation and keep the culture alive even they are far away from there villages.

Function of Social Service
In 2043 B.S the club had collected through donation NRs. 75,000.00 & one truck load of clothes in funds to help earthquake victims. In 2045 B.S (1988) this club and Manang Society Service Committee jointly collected NRs. 4,25,000.00 and 108 bags of clothes through donation to help the flood victims by handing over the donations to the Prime Minister ‘Flood Victim Relief Fund' .

In 2052 B.S (1996) this club and Red Cross Society jointly distributed goods to help flood victim families in Bagarchhap village of Manang district. In 2051 B.S (1995), the club distributed rice, rugs and clothes in Tache and Nache Villages of Manang district by Parliamentarian Palten Gurung.

Blood Donation Programmes.
On 8th of Jestha 2054 B.S (21st May 1997) the club had organized the 1st blood donation programme on the auspicious occasion of Lord Buddha’s 2542 birthday Buddha Jayanti under the chief guest of Late Supremo, Ganeshman Singh. On that occasion 51 people donated blood and on that occasion certificates were distributed by the chief guest to the blood donors and the volunteers. Since then such blood donation programme is being held every year.

In 2059 B.S (2003) the club was awarded a Shield from the Nepal Blood Bank Association for achieving the largest number of female blood donors in the country as well as any other organizations.

Since then the club has again received a shield for largest number of female blood donor in the country on the occasion of the 22nd MANI DHUNG GHYUR PUJA for World Peace on 04/12/2060 BS (17/03/2004) where 124 people donated which of 77 were Female and 47 were Male.

On the same occasion for this year’s 23rd MANI DHUNG GHYUR PUJA for World Peace on 19/11/2061 BS (02/03/2005) where 128 people donated blood which of 83 was Female and 45 were Male. This year the club did not receive any shield even though it was clearly understandable that the club has once again broken the record of the highest number of female to donate blood and waiting for the officials approval and for the shield.

On 20th Bhadra 2060/1 B.S a friendship football match was organized between Manang Marshyangdi Club & the Dream team in National Stadium to help former national football player- Late Mr. Suresh Panthi. To raise fund for the treatment of blood cancer.

This club is not behind but ahead to honor and to give prizes to that disciplined and honest football player of the Manang Marshyangdi Club who has brought more respected reputation for the club and their own name as well in the field of sportsmanship.

On 27 Shrawan 2060 B.S Mani Shah was honored by the club giving him NRs 50,000.00 cash prize and with a letter of honor for being the best player in the country and also went on to become a national player of the country. He became successful and put the country's name on a higher level.

Kumar Thapa was also honored by the club awarding him with a motorbike on 2003 for his commitment to the club and continuously for 10 years played in the club being a disciplined, honest and diligent individual. Later he went to become the best Mid Fielder in the country. He is also the captain of the club till present and helped put the name of the club & the name of the nation on a higher level.

This club is not behind but ahead to attract youths in football organizing internal tournament Holtangpa Lhosar Running Cup every New Year to encourage and educate the young generations to make the future star player of the Nation.
